Thanksgiving so soon....

Boy am I glad Vance is back at work... he is too. He has taken a job with a company out of Maryland working on local San Antonio jobs as their site engineer. He has been there all of one week and is really enjoying it so far. His great aunt said "for better or worse, but not for lunch!" That cracks me up every time I think of it. She said that when her husband retired. Vance was home with us about six weeks and as much as I enjoyed having him around ALL day long.... it was nice to have him back to work! :)

The kiddos start their Thanksgiving break... They reminded me over and over this morning when I dropped them off at school.... "We will be home a whole week!" I reminded them we have LOTS to do. We are hosting the Weynand/Rock families (Vance's family) and we'll have in the range of 25 here for lunch. It will be fun! The kids really like to help so it may be more fun than I can stand! : )

We attempted to take some Christmas card photos last night. I can get great shots of other peoples kiddos... but mine... another story! I have included a few.

While taking photos, I also attempted the Wilson Kiddos pics. They are way too cute! Check out the sisterly love in this one...

A day in the life of...

We're just plugging along. Vance is on the search for a new job, as he was one of the many laid off from his previous company. He is incredibly optimistic and has prospects. We are prayerful in his search. The kiddos are keeping us crazy busy with all of their daily stuff. Vance, having been home this past week, has had a glimpse of what goes into the daily routine. A quote from one of his great aunts... "For better or worse, but not for lunch" He has been home long enough! :) We will go where God leads us.

We went to the maize in Hondo, TX with our life group a couple of weeks ago. The kiddos had a great time there. We, however, did not take Alexandria and Elizabeth. It would have been a little much for them.

I am still the MOPS coordinator at our church. We kicked off our year with a full house. It is an incredible time we have as a large group of Christian women together with the same life phase. It is an awesome group of women that come together.

This past weekend Vance's grandmother had her annual family reunion where she, along with her sister and two brothers, gather their families for a meal.

The children have lots of fall activities that they want to be a part of. We are currently preparing for "Trunk or Treat" that is at our church on Oct. 31. They are looking forward to wearing their costumes and getting treats with their friends.

Logan is going to be Darth Vator, Victoria is going to be Dorthy, Alexandria is going to be Barbie Diamond Princess and little Elizabeth is going to be TinkerBell. They can hardly wait!

First Half of September

For only a coupe of weeks, we've had a busy September. First, Logan & Victoria went off to school. They are doing great and both loving it. Logan has become the little reader. He reads all of the time. He is really into the Magic Tree House series. Victoria loves school too. She is sooo tired at the end of the day.

Alexandria and Elizabeth started Mothers Day Out. They seem to really enjoy it. They are in the same class so that helps with separation.

Vance's baby sister got married last weekend.

The kids were all in the wedding and did great. Logan didn't have much use for all of the photos, but he was pretty patient.

Elizabeth got her first hair cut. She was looking like the mad scientist! Auntie Meredith came over with scissors in hand!

Logan was asked to read scripture during church on Sunday. He said he wasn't nervous a bit. He did a great job and didn't miss a bit!

On to the next phase...

Back to school time again. Logan started 2nd grad this year. He loves it, (minus the recess time). In 2nd grade, you get a little less recess time than you did in 1st! Victoria started kinder this year. She had some ups and downs through the week, but all in all, she did fine. All ended well at the end of the week. The funniest things about her is that her teacher's name is Ms. Logan!

Now less than a week to go before the big wedding! Vance's baby sister, Joanne, is getting married on Saturday. All of the little children are in the wedding. It is going to be an absolutely beautiful black and white event, accented with red long stem roses. I will post pics of that next week!

Back to the daily routine!

The children, Leslie and I spent last week in College Station visiting friends. It always feels like I am at home while I am there. I really miss that town, but have many wonderful friends and family in San Antonio. We had wonderful news this past week. God has placed another little one in our lives. I actually keep a little girl and now I am going to keep her baby brother. I do not know what my house would be like with out a baby in it. Our kiddos are thrilled to welcome Whit to hour house for a few days a week, along with Braelyn, who is already here. She's become just a part of the family when she's here. She is the same age as the twins and they really mesh well.

It is just a few more weeks until Leslie leaves back to college. Our kiddos won't know what to do with out their Leslie. She is a sophomore at Harding U in Arkansas. She will be leaving the end of August. The has been a true blessing to our family.

Victoria Turned 5...

Sweet Victoria turned 5 this past week. We celebrated her birthday at Stoli Backyard Theater where we got to see a rendition of Snow White. She had a wonderful time with all of her little friends... she even dressed up in her Snow White costume. Hard to believe that she will be starting kinder in the fall. Two in school, two at home... what will I do with all of my free time???? Hee Hee...

2 and a half.. five years tomorrow... seven last Sunday and six months!

Today we added baby Adalida to our day. She's precious and the girls adore her. Logan decided to hang out with a buddy instead of playing with baby today!  He said there were quite enough girls here already and he wanted to go play with a boy. We've had fun with her today. The twins think she's a doll... except when she gets into their stuff.

7 Years Old

We are trucking right a long. Logan, our eldest, turned 7 on Sunday. We enjoyed a family lunch at the Rainforest Cafe, his favorite place to eat. The food is okay, but there is an elephant! We had a party on Monday for Logan's friends at the ever loved Chuck E. Cheese. I think the dads had as much fun as the kiddos!

New Cousin

My little children have a new cousin... Well actually their first, first couisn. My children have been only grandchildren until the newest blessing arrived on Thursday, January 10. Yes, January 10, exactly two years since we were blessed with doubles! Now Alexandria, Elizabeth, and now Adalida Jane all share their special day!

Adalida was born at 12:54 PM, Thursday, January 10, 2008. She was 7 lbs., 9 oz. and 18 inches long. She and Mommy, Jess are doing well. I am now an "Auntie" for the first time!

Alexandria & Elizabeth's 2nd Birthday Party

Althought their "real" birthday isn't till the 10th, we celebrated the girls 2nd birthday today with our friends and family. They had a wonderful time with their fav, Mickey Mouse. We had a bounce house that they enjoyed almost as much as the grown men who jumped in it.
